Jewelry Inspired by the surreality of childhood and the human preoccupation with beauty

Beauty for me isn't something obviously symmetrical, or pleasing, like a nice sunset or pretty face. Beauty for me is finding some sort of pattern in the unexpected, that is so wrong that it's right and makes my brain click.

I'm heavily influenced by Spanish literature and film where something can be at once funny, startling, dark, and deeply unapologetically, vulnerably, beautiful. That's what I want my jewelry to be, fitting all those feelings into one piece.

It could be flowers growing out of concrete or beet juice stained fingers or the pillowy softness of a round fat belly. I love finding beauty in the ignored parts of our life.

I started in found object sculpture, then moved to jewelry. Because even though the term "wearable art" is gross, there's always something powerful about a talisman you can carry with you and look at everywhere you go.
